The invitation

Poetry is words arranged on a page or screen in a unique and particular order and combination that, when it meets your field, you are struck with feeling — as if all the particles of your being have momentarily re-arranged
in a beautiful way.

Visual poetry, for me, is the same thing, but this time with colors, textures and shapes. A discovery of composition in unique and unpredictable array, a cloud of pixels temporarily arranged into a form that strikes you with overwhelming feeling. Again, as if all the particles of your being have re-arranged — reflecting something precious about you, and where you are.

The exploration with creation in either of these forms is to ask:

What does this creation know about me that I don’t know yet? What is it telling me about myself, and where I am right now?

Let’s find out.

The voyage

Poesia Visiva is a visual-poetry journey exploring resonance and reality creation with the dream machine.

I am an analog and digital artist of 30+ years, and I’ll be inviting you to play in both realms as well — and to weave those realms together in new ways. My analog art form is the written word and poetry; my digital art form is visual imagery, design and collage.

What is your analog? What is your digital? How can you let the two play
together
in new ways?

And more importantly…
what will you discover about yourself, freshly, when you do?

Let’s find out. ;)

Our guide & metaphor

We’ll dive head-first into the themes of resonance and reality creation, using the dream machine as our metaphor and guide. You’ll be seeing yourself reflected — getting to know yourself and your creative style in a new light.

Weekly explorations

You’ll be invited to play with the tools of your choosing, and each week I’ll offer us fresh explorations to discover your visual poetry — and what it has to say to you, about you, and where it’s guiding you next.

Befriending Our Dreams

We embark on this journey together, with the intention of listening to and befriending our dreams and creations in a new and beautiful way — deepening our relationship with our visions, and our ability to bring them into reality.

A few questions

Do I need any experience — with art, writing, or AI?
No! It will be helpful if you do, of course, but not necessary. Everyone’s welcome — from brand-new-to-this to seasoned artists with a lifetime of experience.
Do I have to play with the tools to join, or can I just come to enjoy more of your work and explore resonance & reality creation in my own way?
Absolutely you can! You do not need to use the tools to enjoy or benefit from this — all you’ll do is swap out your own creative process or practices for the tools. So instead of using the dream machine to play with this, you’ll use whatever you use, and just modify the weekly curiosities I send to suit you. This is an exploration of YOU, after all, not the tools or the expression — it’s about finding out more about yourself and what is wanting to be known by you at this time. And yes, I’ll be sharing more of my creations in this space, absolutely.
Is this a training or how-to course in using the tools?
No — partly because everyone will enjoy different versions and some won’t want to use them at all, but also because these tools are extremely self-explanatory; you can literally just ask Gemini (Google) or GPT and get started super fast. I’ll be sharing what I use, sharing more about my process, and I’ll answer any and all questions you have about it — but this is about helping you find YOUR process and style, seeing what it has to reveal to you, and how it will bring together elements you hadn’t brought together before. That everything-clicking-together feeling — that’s what we’ll be voyaging toward.
How does it actually work — where does it happen, and is it live or self-paced?
The weekly explorations arrive in your inbox by email, for a total of 4 weeks plus a final thoughts-and-wrap-up. There are no passwords or logins to keep track of, and no appointments or zooms to attend. You’ll play in your own time and space, but can hit reply on any email to ask questions, share your work, or flag any issues. We’ll be introverts working in our own space and time (my favorite!) — but with a connection line open throughout for anything you need or want to share or ask! There are no live calls; all materials will be sent in writing and/or audio (take your pick).
What tools do I need, and do they cost extra?
You’ll choose whatever tools you want to play with — or choose to swap out your own process for this exploration and skip the tools entirely. All of the tools have free versions to try out before you ever pay; you’d only upgrade to a paid plan when you want more capability and want to play some more. So you can do it without any extra cost, or you can upgrade things to your liking.
