“you should be grateful for what you have” <— is a recipe for guilt. No gratitude can come from that. Just allegiance. Allegiance born of fear. No real gratitude can ever come out of that energy. Ever.

But you DO want to feel appreciation, you DO want to feel grateful, because you know how beautiful that feels to you when it is real, not from that forced or false place. You want to feel the kind of appreciation where your heart field opens and overflows, naturally.

But you can’t touch that from “should”.

Should is lack, you can’t touch abundance from lack. You can only touch it by connecting to what matters to you, by connecting to what you love and what sincerely delights your heart.

That is always findable, but scarcely so when you are beating yourself up for not being there or feeling that (or allowing others to do so). So forget about you should be grateful, just find a way to connect to what you love. ❤️
